About Us

Civil engineering is recognized as an important field concerned with the design, construction, and maintenance of all physical and naturally created structures. Civil engineers are basically engaged in the design and construction of various public works including canals, water reservoirs plants, hydropower dams for irrigation and domestic water requirements, modes of transport i.e. roads, bridges and railways that must be needed for the economic growth of any country. Civil engineers are important to the society as they are often referred as ‘Builders of Nation’.

Today, the world is witnessing significant changes due to technology advancements, population expansion, and environmental concerns. There are numerous employment opportunities for civil engineers. Civil engineers are required in government agencies, private and public sector enterprises to carry out numerous megaprojects such as metro railway projects, express highway corridors, industrial structures, reservoir projects, flyovers, townships, and megacity projects.
To satisfy the growing demand for competent and multidimensional design and construction professionals, our Institute provides M.Tech, B.Tech and diploma program for aspiring civil engineers.

The Department offers both 4 year undergraduate (B.Tech) and 2 year postgraduate (M.Tech) program in Civil Engineering. The department offers M.Tech programs under two specializations of Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering and Structural and Foundation Engineering with an intake of 20 seats in each specialization. Also, the department offer 3 year Diploma program in Civil Engineering. The department has well-equipped laboratories in various fields of Civil Engineering such as Material Testing Lab, Concrete and structural Engineering lab, Survey Lab, Geotechnical Engineering Lab, Transportation Lab, and Environmental Engineering Lab offers all facilities for carrying out the practical oriented studies and research projects of students. The department has arranged periodic field trips and visits to various project sites to make students aware of the practical application of the subject that has been covered in their course syllabus.
